Organizing Your Trip

We’re excited to help you organize your visit! We can arrange a visit to your school or location for group leaders, participants, and caregivers before the trip. Simply reach out for more information.

Before your group’s visit to Wenonah, the Director of Outdoor Education will connect with the trip organizer to finalize the program details. The trip organizer will receive a comprehensive checklist outlining all necessary forms and items needed to complete the planning process.

Role of Teachers & Chaperones

All activities are led by our qualified Wenonah Outdoors staff, allowing teachers, group leaders, and chaperones to engage in the experience alongside participants.

During Core Programs, teachers, group leaders, and chaperones serve as additional support, helping to oversee student and participant behavior and ensuring safety. We request that one adult supervisor is present for each rotation group during these activities, as well as during wide games, evening programs, and other group events.

While the schedule is busy, teachers, group leaders, and chaperones must supervise participants at all times, including during free periods and between activities.

Nighttime Supervision

Group leaders, teachers, and chaperones are fully responsible for nighttime supervision from the end of evening programs until morning wake-up.

Many groups assign teachers to rotate supervision duties until students and participants settle down in their cabins, while others may have adults stay overnight in the cabins with the students. Wenonah staff live on-site in central areas and are available for assistance.

In case of a nighttime emergency, group leaders are given the contact information for the on-call Wenonah staff member.

Arrival at Wenonah

Please plan your weekday arrival at Wenonah between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.

After being introduced to our staff, participants will settle into their accommodations. We will then hold a “Community Meeting” to outline daily procedures and details. Following this, everyone will enjoy a tour of the Camp facilities.

On arrival day, please ensure that group members bring a nut-free bag lunch, as the first meal provided at Wenonah will be dinner.

Departure from Wenonah

After completing cabin clean-up and enjoying a 12:30 PM lunch, groups should plan to depart by 1:30 PM.

Please confirm your expected departure time in advance using the Final Information Form.

On your last day, ensure your bus arrives at least 45 minutes before your scheduled departure. If departing by car, have everything packed and ready ahead of time. For any changes to your arrival or departure times, please coordinate with the Director of Outdoor Education beforehand, as uncommunicated changes may incur additional charges.
